GET A CLUE
Held each fall on Wright Plaza, this event highlights Division of Student Life services and student organizations. Students can "shop" numerous tables of information and groups in which they can become involved. Last year's Get A Clue was held Wednesday, September 13, 2006 from 1:00pm-4:00pm .

STUDENT ORGANIZATION REGISTRATION
Attention all organizations! You MUST register with The Student Organization Center every year to be recognized as a student organization on campus. The Student Organization Center keeps on file all registrations and constitutions and lets interested students know about your organization. The deadline to register for 2006-2007 is September 29, 2006. All organizations must submit a copy of their constitution to complete the registration process, even if no changes have been made.

OFFICER TRAINING WORKSHOPS
The SOC provides regular training opportunities for organization officers. These monthly seminars cover important topics related to being a leader in your organization. Most workshops are presented twice to allow maximum participation. Come and refresh your leadership skills!

MEMBERS MONTHLY

The SOC wants to make sure that all people involved in our student organizations get the best training possible. New in Fall 2006, Members Monthly provides essential skills needed to be a successful organization member. Want to be seen as a vital part of your organization? Come to Members Monthly. Many of the workshop topics are the same as those for officers, but are geared to members interested in moving up in their organization. Come be a leader for your organization!

HOW TO SPEND SGA FUNDS
The Student Organization Fund Office will be offering a series of workshops in an effort to educate students and organizations regarding expending of their SGA funds as well as workshops outlining travel guidelines.  The attendance of student organizations Presidents and Treasurers is mandatory.

NEWS BUREAU RELEASES
Students can complete a newsreleaseform and The Student Organization Center will forward this information to the ECU News Bureau for release in hometown newspapers.

CONSTITUTION REVISION
Does your organization's constitution need a face-lift? Is the information outdated or inaccurate? The Student Organization Center can help you spruce up this document for your organization. Stop by to pick up a sample constitution.

To have The Student Organization Center review your constitution, drop it by 109 Mendenhall or e-mail us at
studentactivities@ecu.edu

ORGANIZATION MAILBOXES
Each registered student organization is given a mailbox in 109 Mendenhall Student Center. This gives your organization a permanent address even when your officers change. Be sure to check your organization's mailbox regularly for important information. The student organization mailboxes should be used to conduct official organization business.

STUDENT ORGANIZATION INTEREST CARDS
During Summer Orientation new students can complete the Pirate Connection survey which will be forwarded to the organization(s) of their choice. This is a great way for any student to get more information about clubs and organizations.

If you are interested in an organization you
read about online, then send us an e-mail, and we will put an interest card in their box for you to let them know you are interested.

STUDENT LEADERS CONSULTATION
SOC can help you handle your organization effectively. We consult with leaders facing challenges or problems, and help leaders develop and present successful programs, organize group retreats, and develop team-building sessions.

LEADERSHIP PRESENTATIONS AND WORKSHOPS
Leadership workshops and presentations are available upon request for student leaders and organizations who are interested in a program designed specifically for the needs of their group. Workshops cover a wide variety of topics for any time or place.  Click here to download the presentation request form.

CAMPUS SOLICITATION
To hold a fundraiser on-campus, visit http://at.ecu.edu/res/ to request an outdoor space.

MENDENHALL EVENT PLANNING OFFICE
All registered student organizations can reserve rooms in Mendenhall Student Center to hold organization meetings. Contact Mendenhall Student Center Event Planning Office to reserve your space in Mendenhall. Click the heading above to visit the Mendenhall Events Planning Website.

STUDENT ORGANIZATION REPORT
Student Organizations are required to submit a semester report to the Student Organization Center during the months of December and April.  The purpose of the these reports is to give the SOC a brief look at the organizations activities and help pin-point areas where organizations may need assistance or guidance.  These reports may be submitted in-person at the SOC in Mendenhall Student Center or via e-mail to the SOC (will include email address once it has been changed).  Organizations failing to submit semester reports for two consecutive semesters will not be recognized by the University for the following year and following that suspension will be required to complete the new organization approval process rather than re-registering.
