Program Purpose Statement
- To provide students with an opportunity to develop leadership awareness, event-planning skills, a commitment of service to others while experiencing a sense of belonging.
Program Objectives
- Develop personal and event planning skills that will provide excellent members for the Student Union
- Develop and emphasize team building by providing a sense of belonging
- Develop efficient and effective volunteers that will provide a service to the ECU student population
What is the Student Union S.T.A.R.S Program?
- The Student Union S.T.A.R.S Program serves as an opportunity for new members and individuals interested in obtaining information concerning leadership and the Student Union. Participants will have the opportunity to engage in hands-on event planning projects, meet prominent ECU faculty and staff, and interact with their peers. Moreover, this program seeks to emphasize teamwork and personal skill development in a friendly environment, and efficient and effective volunteers that will provide a service to the ECU community.
I am eligible and how can I participate?
- The S.T.A.R.S program is open to all full-time ECU students. If you are interested in participating just fill out the short Student Union S.T.A.R.S Program application. Program participants can also participate and are encouraged to be on Student Union committees while partaking in the program.
Will participants incur a cost? - There is no cost for students participating in the Student Union S.T.A.R.S program
Are all workshops and meetings required?
- Program participants are requried to attend all workshops and meetings. The information provided at these meetings will be useful in upcoming Student Union S.T.A.R.S Program event planning projects.
