Freshmen who participated in WOW 2007 had this to say:
My favorite WOW activities were the cultural awareness activities. I am very happy to be part of a university that takes pride in making everyone feel as though they are a part. I am from Maryland and I know that ECU has a strong presence in the Annapolis area and when I return home after graduation, I will be honored to join the alumni association.

I liked all the WOW activities. I would hope that you do the same for the next year’s freshmen.

Through WOW I learned how amazing the Pirates are and how well connected our school seems to be, very welcoming and quick to engage students in activities around campus.

Through WOW I learned about keeping a balance between outside social activities and my academics.

Because of WOW I learned to go to class and how not to spend all my money and be safe because what I do outside of class affects how I do in class.

When I first started at ECU I did not really want to be here. None of my friends were coming to ECU. But the on-campus activities, the people, students and faculty, really helped me adjust to life at ECU. Now I don’t want to leave.
