Sorority Convocation

Sunday, August 19th at 7:00 pm:  Wright Auditorium

Tonight you will be introduced to all nine of the sororities on ECU’s campus.  During this time we will go over the recruitment schedule with you, answer any questions you may have, and introduce you to your Pi Chi’s and Pi Chi groups.  Tonight is the start of a very exciting week!

 

Dress is casual.

EC Scholars Ropes Course

Monday, August 20 8:30- 4:00 p.m.


The EC Scholars will participate in a Ropes Course which is Challenge Course designed for groups to come together in a positive environment to allow for personal and group growth.  ECU Recreational Services will facilitate the program. 

 

The EC Scholars will be picked up at Umstead Residence Hall.  Transportation is provided by ECU Recreational Services. The ropes course is located in the back of the Blount Sports Complex Field House.   Boxed lunches will be provided by the Honors Program.  Students should wear comfortable, outdoor clothing and tennis shoes or hiking boots and should bring along bottled water.

Meet & Greet Day

Monday, August 20th at 11:00am

The first round of recruitment begins with a Meet and Greet.  Today you will travel throughout the Hilton of Greenville in order to get better acquainted with all 9 sororities.  You will spend 20 minutes with members from each sorority and be shown what being Greek is all about!

 

Dress is casual.

 

Party 1: 12:00-12:20

Party 2: 12:30- 12:50

Party 3: 1:00-1:20

Party 4: 1:30-1:50

Party 5: 2:00-2:20

Party 6: 2:30-2:50

Party 7: 3:00-3:20

House Tour Day

Tuesday, August 21st at 9am

The House Tour round will give you the opportunity to get to tour up to 7 of the Sorority Houses.  During this time you will learn about the history of the houses as well as find out more about the financial aspect of joining each of the Sororities.  These parties are 35 minutes long and will give you an idea of what most of these girls call their home away from home!

 

Dress is casual.

 

Party 1: 9:30-10:05

Party 2: 10:30-11:05

Party 3: 11:30- 12:05

Lunch:  12:05 – 1:30

ROLL CALL AT 1:40!

Philanthropy Day

Friday, August 24th at 2:45pm

This round will give you an opportunity to learn about up to five of the sorority’s community service projects and the important role it plays in each chapter.  You will even get to participate in an activity with the chapters!

 

Dress is casual.

Preference Day

Saturday, August 25th at 2pm

The last and final round will let you in on the more serious side of sorority life.  During this time you will get to participate in up to 3 beautiful ceremonies that have been performed since the historic beginnings of each sorority.  Listen carefully throughout each ceremony; the women are revealing the strongest characteristics of their chapter to you.

 

Dress is business casual.

Bid Day

Sunday, August 26th at 12:00pm

 

Dress is casual (remember you will be receiving a Bid Day T-shirt from your sorority!)

To register for Sorority Formal Recruitment, go to www.ecu.edu/studentlife/greek

 

Registration: In order to participate in Sorority Formal Recruitment, a woman must be a full-time, undergraduate woman enrolled at East Carolina University.  To register for Recruitment, please go to our website at www.ecu.edu/studentlife/greekand click on the Panhellenic Recruitment Registration link.  Once on the ICS link click on Enrollment.  The cost to go through Recruitment is $50.00 and is non-refundable.  Registration starts May 15th and ends at midnight the night of August 19th (Convocation).
