In February, 2011 the ECU Department of Engineering was awarded $540,000 in scholarship funding for engineers under the National Science Foundation's S-STEM program.
S-STEM funding provides scholarships for students who are eligible under federal guidelines.
The S-STEM program at ECU, known as E3NC, awards 4-year scholarships to engineering students from North Carolina.
The first cohort of E3NC scholars arrived at ECU in Fall 2011. Three additional cohorts will be selected for the incoming classes of 2012, 2013 and 2014.
How to Apply
Step 1: Apply and be accepted to ECU.
Step 2: Apply and be accepted to ECU Engineering.
Step 3: Complete and submit a FAFSA www.fafsa.ed.gov/ (DEADLINE = 1st Friday in March)
Step 4: Take the ALEKS (math placement) test – www.ALEKS.com (DEADLINE = 2nd Friday in March)
Step 5: Complete and submit the online E3NC scholarship Application (DEADLINE = 3rd Friday in March)
Note: Scholarship recipients will be notified of awards on April 15th and must confirm their acceptance of the scholarship by May 1st.
