Master's Program in Biomedical Engineering

The UNC Board of Governors has approved the addition of a Master of Science Program in Biomedical Engineering.  The program will begin in the Fall semester and is now accepting applications.

College Name Change

The UNC Board of Governors approved a name change for the College of Technology and Computer Science.  The college will now be called the College of Engineering and Technology.

Biomedical Engineering Research Grant

The Departments of Engineering, Kinesiology and Physical Therapy at East Carolina University will conduct a 10 week summer research program funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF) for 8 undergraduate students from May 27th - August 1st.  Click here for the ECU NSF Research Experience homepage.

Message and photo by IEEE student organization faculty advisor Dr. Jason Yao:
"(ECU) engineering students Tyree Parker and Michael Kennedy and I attended an IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, www.ieee.org) Region 3 Conference (http://ewh.ieee.org/reg/3/southeastcon2014/) March 13-16.   As a newly rejuvenated student branch in last October, they participated in the website competition (http://ieee.ecu.edu), the IEEE Leadership Training and other technical workshops, and networked with potential employers and hundreds of peer Electrical and Computer Engineering students from ~30 universities. 

The ECU IEEE student branch is building an unmanned aerial vehicle to participate a competition sponsored by the Air Force Research Laboratory in August (http://www.ohiouasconference.com/pages/competition.html)." 


ASME Student Advisor Award

Congratulations to ECU Engineering Professor, Dr. Tarek Abdel-Salam, on receiving the ASME 2013 Student Section Advisor Award for District F: VA, NC, SC, GA, FL, AL, TN
