Greenhouse Emissions Management and Reduction

Solar thermal water heating panels are used to heat their hot water supply.

Solid Waste Management, Reduction, Reuse and Recycling

Recycling bins are provided in all of the lodging areas for the collection of paper, plastic, and glass. Office supplies are also recycled. The restaurant recycles cardboard, plastic, metal cans, aluminum cans, and brown and green glass. The restaurant also separates grease and oily liquids for recycling. Rechargeable batteries are used throughout the facilities.

Freshwater Consumption Reduction

Low flow shower heads are used to save water usage. Adjustable toilet valves are also used.

Wastewater Management

No phosphates are used in the laundry.

Energy Efficiency, Conservation, and Management

Energy-efficient appliances are used throughout the facilities. All of the exit signs use energy efficient Light Emitting Diodes (LED) bulbs. Digital programmable set-back thermostats are used throughout the property. Reversible ceiling fans are used in the lodging, office, and restaurant areas to preserve heating costs in the colder months. HVAC units all have a Seasonal Energy Efficient Ratio (SEER) rating of 13 or higher. All new window purchases are dual pane and energy efficient. Motion sensor technology is being used throughout the property to reduce lighting costs. Compact fluorescent bulbs are used.

Air Quality Protection and Noise Reduction

All of the facilities are non-smoking.

Responsible Purchasing

Brown, unbleached paper towels, and recycled toilet paper are purchased for use in restrooms. Ceramic coffee cups are used instead of plastic or Styrofoam. Recycled paper is used for printing products whenever possible. Biodegradable products are used for room cleaning. Bulk amenities dispensers are used for soaps and shampoos, eliminating the use (and waste) of small plastic bottles.

Training and Education form Employees and Clients

"Save Our Planet" signs are provided in all of the rooms to encourage guests to use their towels multiple times before housekeeping picks them up to clean.
