My interests lie in the area of assisting communities with the sustainable planning and development of tourism resources. I have experience accessing , analyzing and evaluating the nature base assets and culture tourism in rural communities.I am especially interested in working with different stakeholder group in tourism_dependent counties on their attitude towards impact of tourism and second home development as well as their attachment to the community.
Impact of tourism and second home development on community life;
Importance of sustainable actions in the future success of community's tourism economy;
Impacts of climate ans weather on property valuation/use and recreational choices;
Support for future tourism development;
I have also served as Principle Investigator on a project through the NC sea Grant program regarding oil spill and tourism businesses, and as Co-Principle Investigator on another NC Grant research on tourism impact and sustainability.
