The Plan for Dentistry in North Carolina was jointly prepared and supported by UNC-CH and ECU in response to the growing needs for additional dentists. UNC-CH and ECU are equally committed to the Plan, and believe that both dental schools will complement their respective missions. The citizens of North Carolina are best served by this fully cooperative approach to dental education, and stand to gain from the education, research and service it offers.

A review team comprised of national and recognized experts applauded the outstanding cooperation between the two universities and urged its continuation and further development to leverage scare resources and ensure the people of North Carolina continue to benefit from its premier university system.
