JAWS Setup

Client

Install client with "j######.exe /a /client"

Location

• Desktop > Jaws #
• Windows Key > P > J > J
• Start > Programs > Jaws > Jaws (Windows Key > P > J > J)

Server

The network server authorization setup and usage will probably be very different after 5.xx.

Install client with "j######.exe /a /server". This does not always work properly. You can also install it locally and then copy the files to the shared folder. Once copied then use netauth to install the keys.

Network authorization (Redo anytime the directory is changed!)

• "netauth /t\\unc\share\ /net" OR
• "netauth -t\\unc\share -net"

Always make sure to access the network JAWS through the same share path that the authorization was installed through.

Set Permissions:

The JAWS folder:

• The Administrator group should have full access.
• The Creator/Owner group can have full access.
• The System can have full access.
• The Everyone group should have Read/Execute access, or alternately, each user can be given these same access rights.

All of these options should include subdirectories.

Change permissions for: authman.log, jfw.icf, jfw.rpt, start.log, user.log. Everyone group (or each individual user) has the special access permissions of read, write, execute.
