Getting Started for Employers

Welcome Employers
This website is one of the most current, and robust career web sites on any university in the United States. We hope you will be able to easily navigate our website and this page is designed to help you find the information you need.

If at any time you find that you are unable to locate any information, please feel free to contact us at 252-328-6050 and we will do our best to help you. Here is a list of some of the frequently asked questions that employer request and where that information can be found:

How do I post a job where students and alumni will be able to see it and apply?
On the Employer page of our website there is a hotlink titled, "Submit a Job". When you click on this link you will be guided to Career Connections were you can login or register to post your position. Take a look at our Employer Guide for further assistance with Career Connections.

Where can I get registration information on upcoming career fairs?
Clicking on the "Career Fairs" link will open a page which lists the different career fairs held throughout the year. Complete the form, submit, and mail in your registration check to complete the registration process. Once you have registered for the fair you will receive written confirmation and your name will automatically be added to the list of companies attending the fair. Click on the words "Employers Attending" to find the information you submitted on the positions you are hoping to fill. Your company name on this list will automatically be linked to your web page. You may also submit information you would like to have posted on this page that you would like students to see. That information might be a newsletter, powerpoint presentation, digital advertisement, or flyer. For examples of what other companies have provided, look for the Red Bolded item next to a companies name and click on it

What do I need to do to come on campus outside of the career fair and interview students for a position I have posted with you?
Click on the On-Campus Interview Form and tell us when you'd like to be on campus, how many individuals will be interviewing, and which positions you will be interviewing for. In most cases employers hold interviews in our office, but occasionally we place employers in other on-campus locations. We will notify the both you and the students who sign up for the interviews where you will be located. A significant number of employers have found that if they hold an "Employer Information Session" the night before the interviews they can fill in any blank interview slots from their students who attend. If you would like to discuss that possibility, please call our office, at 252-328-6050 who will connect you with the liaison for the majors you are targeting who will help set up that opportunity.

We are thinking of trying to hire a student for a position we have open. Is there a way I can get some copies of student resume to see if there are students who might be qualified?
Yes, there certainly is. We use a third party system called Career Connections for this purpose. On the Employer menu click on Career Connections and register your company. There is no charge for registration. Once you have obtained a logon to Career Connections, you can access ECU student resumes where students voluntarily make their resumes available to employers.

I'd like to come on campus and give a talk in class to students taking my subject area. How do I set that up?
Call our office 252-328-6050 and tell the Receptionist what majors you are targeting and she will connect you with the Liaison for your major who will assist you in setting that up.

I'd like to provide some feedback to you on my experience on campus, how can I do that?
Click on the Employer Survey link and complete the feedback form. By the way, thanks!

Can you give me some idea of the salaries ECU students expect once they graduate?
We think the federal government provides the most accurate source of wage information because it is based on data reported to the Social Security Administration by employers. You can look up salaries by occupation and location under Occupation Information at careerinfonet.org
