The Early College Second Life Program at East Carolina University is an innovative approach to providing a quality program of instruction. The immersive and creative nature of Second Life provides for economy and efficiency in instructional delivery. More importantly, parents, faculty, and administrators have witnessed student enthusiasm, involvement, and support for this approach to learning – it has made a difference! A great example of innovation and making a difference is in the 3-D virtual environment for senior graduation projects – the only use of this methodology in North Carolina, and, perhaps in the nation.
