Our Mission
The Office of Institutional Diversity at East Carolina University promotes an environment that embraces, accepts and respects differences and holds each other accountable. Through programming, education, advocacy, research, and partnering with the faculty, staff, students and administrators, the office leads a focused effort to integrate diversity goals and initiatives.

East Carolina University is a place where awareness, knowledge, and skills create and empower an inclusive way of living, being, and working on the campus, in the community and beyond.
Core Themes
The Office of Institutional Diversity at East Carolina University will operate from four core themes or values: programming, education, advocacy, and research. Because the LWCC focuses on students, the OID will emphasize its focus on faculty and staff as related to diversity, inclusion, building community. The OID will collaborate with many partners on students programming and education and for faculty and staff.
