Clinical Trial - SPRINT Study

Clinical trial open for high-blood pressure patients

Do you have high blood pressure? Are you at least 55 years old?

You may be able to receive free medical visits and medicine as part of a national blood pressure study at ECU Physicians. The SPRINT study (Systolic Blood Pressure Intervention Trial) is open to qualifying patients through ECU Physicians.

Patients will receive free medications that have been approved by the FDA, regular medical tests including EKGs (heart exams), memory tests and information. If you are accepted in the study, you will have ongoing help managing you high blood pressure. All that’s required is to take your medicines as prescribed and follow your doctor’s instructions. This program may improve your health and will help your doctor find better treatments for this deadly condition.

This five-year clinical trial is being conducted by the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute, National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke, the National Institute on Aging, and the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases, all part of part of the National Institutes of Health.
