The Master of Arts in History Education degree program allows completion of an advanced degree for individuals who presently hold an initial secondary or middle grades history/social studies teaching license. MAEd-HIED students explore history content and pedagogical issues and considerations as soon to be leaders in their schools and districts. Students work closely with both history and education faculty to design innovative research projects that contribute to the history/social studies education field. Twelve-semester hours of this 39-semester hour program are offered online. Remaining courses are offered face-to-face on the ECU campus.
