Welcome to our Instructional Technology program area! We invite you to browse through our web pages and to join with us as we design, develop, and study the next generation of instructional technologies.
What is Instructional Technology? According to the Association of Educational Communications and Technology, "Instructional Technology is the theory and practice of design, development, utilization, management, and evaluation of processes and resources for learning (Seels & Richey, 1994)." The term Instructional Technology and Educational Technology are generally considered synonymous. "Educational technology is the study and ethical practice of facilitating learning and improving performance by creating, using, and managing appropriate technology processes and resources (Januszewski & Molenda, 2008)."
