Second and Third Graders
Insect Detectives!
What is the life of many insects we encounter each day? Students will explore the life stages of many types of bugs and other exciting insects.Students will create a bug collection to bring home. Be aware that this is close up and personal camp with these little critters.
Ready for Blast OFF!
How are airplanes and rockets alike? What makes an airplane or rocket take off? What keeps them in the air? Campers will experiment with the principles of lift, drag, thrust, and gravity as they construct fliers that meet- or exceed- given specifications. We will conclude this week with our own flight festival.
Natural World Observers
Capture the beauty of nature through the art of journaling using cool technologies. Students will use observation skills and creativity to record all the cool nature finds made during this week of adventure. Come and explore nature but make sure to capture it so you don’t forget.
Lego Exploration
Explore the world of Legos by challenging each other to build and create various simple machines. Students will learn the art of designing successful structures through challenges utilizing various force requirements. Come and explore physical science through the use of legos.
Sounds of Science
Campers explore how the physics of sound works to produce everything from Beethoven's "Ode to Joy" to today's hottest hits! They also investigate how different cultures have made different sounds with musical instruments. This week of art, culture and science concludes with designing, creating and playing new musical instruments.
