Phi Delta Kappa

Phi Delta Kappa is an international association for professional educators. The organization's mission is to promote quality education as essential to the development and maintenance of a democratic way of life by providing innovative programs, relevant research, visionary leadership, and dedicated service.

ECU Chapter History:

The Delta Pi Chapter of Phi Delta Kappa was established at East Carolina College on January 17, 1959. There were 43 charter members. The official charter is currently displayed in the Batten Room in the office of the Dean of the College of Education at East Carolina University.
