Andy Bates originally from Oakton, VA, is a two- time graduate of East Carolina University who has lived here since 1996. In addition to teaching, he is an avid woodworker and has built all his own furniture. His work can be seen at Emerge, a non-profit, community-based gallery in Uptown Greenville. Outside of the classroom and workshop, he enjoys spending time with his beautiful wife Christine and daughter Abby. Other interests include NHL hockey, disc golf, sailing, satire, and more NHL hockey.
