Donna Lillian's recent research has focussed on an analysis of far-right political discourse in Canada; she has also published articles on the use of "Ms." as a courtesy title for women, and on patterns of birth name retention/change by women who marry. She is a member of the Canadian Linguistic Association, the Atlantic Provinces Linguistic Association, the Canadian Society for the Study of Rhetoric, and the Linguistic Association of Canada and the United States. Her book reviews have appeared in Word, Language, and The Canadian Journal of Linguistics.
