Anne Mallory specializes in British Romanticism.  Her article, “Burke, Boredom, and the Theater of Counterrevolution,” appeared in the March 2003 issue of PMLA, where it was awarded the William Riley Parker Prize as the outstanding article published in that journal during 2002-03.  She is currently completing a book manuscript entitled Acting Out Feeling: Histrionics in Burke, Austen, and Thackeray.  In addition to British Romantic poetry and prose, her research and teaching interests include: the sentimental tradition in late eighteenth- and nineteenth-century literature; the novel of manners; psychoanalytic literary theory.
