Debra O'Neal returned to ECU in 2004 after a five year stint in private business. Prior to her leave, she was actively involved with the NC Department of Public Instruction's ESL initiative across the state. She has been involved in evaluating ESL teacher certification applications and has enjoyed delivering numerous workshops for public school teachers. She currently works with the College of Education developing ways to integrate ESL teacher education into the existing teacher ed curriculum.
