Lisa Proctor has made the most of her training as an educator by teaching courses in literature, grammar, composition and communication to students at the secondary, community college and university levels. Along with being a member of the ECU Department of English faculty, she is a senior creative copywriter for the Integrated Partner Marketing team at Microsoft, where is responsible for creating Web copy and helping to develop content and editorial guidelines for the Microsoft Partner Portal. She has also service in a senior copywriting role with IBM Design and Information Development. There, she sat on the IBM Guidelines and Standards Council, the ibm.com worldwide style and editorial team and the IBM Editorial Board, where she helped govern worldwide style and word usage for technical documentation, marketing deliverables and Web content. Her areas of interest include multicultural literature, gender studies and queer theory, particularly as they relate to rhetoric. In her spare time, Lisa enjoys carousing with her dog, cycling and reading.
