Robert Siegel's new play, TRUCE, has been produced at the Contemporary Playwright's Festival in Charlotte, the workshop series of Burning Coal Theater in Raleigh, and as a staged reading at the Hawaii International Arts and Humanities Festival. His play Overlooking the Park has been produced in NYC at American Theater For Actors, Ensemble Studio Theater and at Charlotte Rep's New Play Festival. Night Into Winter was staged at Ensemble Studio Theater, Swear Allegiance at the Perry Street Theater, and Wild Mushrooms at Lincoln Center (NYPLPA). Katmandu, a one-man play commissioned for Academy Award winning actor F. Murray Abraham, was produced at The John Houseman Studio Theater in NYC in July of 2001. He has written the screenplays After the Rain for Lumiere (U.S.) and The Two for Filmagnum Oy (Finland). He is the recipient of the White Bird Theater Award, grants from Poets and Writers, Reader's Digest, and a former member of Lee Strasberg's Actor's Studio Playwrights and Directors Unit. His scholarly work on twentieth century drama has been published by American Drama, University of Alabama Press and Forum, Modernes Theater. His interview with Ariel Dorfman was published by NCLR in 2004.
