Stacey Atkinson

Stacey Atkinson can be found in the assistant's chair of the First Year Writing Studio. She schedules appointments for English 1100 and 1200 students who need to perfect their writing skills, as well as workshops and lab reservations for instructors. She also maintains the writing studio's website and the computer lab adjacent to the studio.

Shavon Carey

Shavon Carey is the administrative assistant to the Director of Undergraduate Studies. An Eastern North Carolina native, she graduated from ECU in Dec. 2006 with a B.A. in Communication, concentrating in Public Relations. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family, reading, and shopping.

Brandy Dashnaw

Brandy Dashnaw serves as Office Supervisor and Assistant to the Chair, overseeing the department's budgetary and personnel matters and supervising the officestaff. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Western Kentucky University with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education in 2003. She is currently pursuing a Masters in Adult Education at ECU. In her spare time she enjoys traveling, reading, kayaking, watching Kentucky basketball, and playing with her Jack Russell Terriers.

Susan Howard

Susan Howard is the Administrative Assistant to the Associate Chair of the Department of English. A native of Pitt County, NC, and alum of Ayden-Grifton High School, she graduated from ECU in May 2005 with a B.S. in Family and Community Services with a concentration in education. She also holds a degree in Travel and Tourism from Southeastern Academy in Kissimmee, Florida. When not working in the Department of English, she performs (sings) at various charity events throughout eastern North Carolina and is a photographer/writer for G-V.E.G.A.S. Magazine.

Ketura

Ketura Parker

Ketura Parkeris the administrative assistant to the Director of Graduate Studies of the department and serves as the liaison for prospective students, regarding the PhD and MA program in English. She manages the tuition remission and graduate assistantship budgets as well as verifies the eligibility requirements for students receiving these funding sources.  Furthermore, she ensures students have met graduation requirements for degree completion. Ketura graduated with a B.A. in Political Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2003, and she thoroughly enjoys shopping, fine dining, listening to gospel and jazz, and studying opulent autos.
