Awards & Appointments
On 29 October 2001, at a ceremony held in the Willis Building, C.W. Sullivan III received a certificate recognizing him as the recipient of the Vice Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Research for 2001 and a plaque recognizing him as a recipient of the Board of Trustees Distinguished Research Professor of English for 2001. The occasion was also marked by a seminar presentation, "Cultural World-view: Marginalizing the Fantastic in the Seventeenth Century," in which Sullivan suggested that England's turn from its Scandinavian and Celtic heritage to a focus on the classical traditions of Greece and Rome was part of a profound change in western cultural world view during the Renaissance. Laura
Micciche was elected by her peers to serve as a member of the CCCC
Executive
Committee, 2002-2004.
