Nature writer and Classics translator Janet Lembke visited the ECU campus in March. For review of her Tag lecture, please click here. On Thursday evening, February 21, three creative writing graduate students read their work at Barnes and Noble bookstore. Joe Horst read his short story "Old Glory," Mike McClanahan read "Protecting a Patch of Grass," and J.P. Nasse read "A Functioning Alcoholic Recalls a Bout with Sobriety: June Fifth 1995." On February 13-14, EGSO raised $132.50 from their Valentine's Day Sweets Sale. The money will be used to assist graduate students in participating in professional development activities, such as attending conferences. On Saturday, February 23, at Colonial Mall in Greenville, four graduate students, Evan Barnes, Sarita Edwards, Tyre Trapp, and Brad Williams, volunteered to help decorate for and organize the annual adult spelling bee sponsored by Literacy Volunteers of America.
