In May, C.W. Sullivan III spent two weeks in Belfast and Dublin on a grant from the Irish American Cultural Institute.  While there, he was interviewed on the topic of fantasy literature by Lyric FM, a radio division of the Radio Telefeis Eireann complex, for a weekly program entitled "The Art Zone."  The segment with Sullivan's interview aired on May 24, 2002.

C.W. Sullivan III taught a seminar, "Young Adult Science Fiction," in the Graduate Program in Children's Literature at Hollins University, Roanoke, Virginia, this summer.  Sullivan is one of several Visiting Professors who teach in the Hollins program every second or third summer.

The 10th anniversary of the North Carolina Literary Review was published in July.  It features original fiction by Fred Chappell, a republication of a Paul Green story, an interview with NCLR's founding editor Alex Albright, and returns to the special feature topics of the ten previous issues.  Copies are available for purchase in the Editor's office (Bate 2134). NCLR Editor Margaret Bauer visited Malaprop's Bookstore in Asheville on August 17, where she answered questions about NCLR's 10th anniversary issue and submitting material to NCLR for publication consideration.
