Miscellany Congratulations to Ahmar Mahboob and his wife on the birth of their third child, Omar, born December 1, 2003! Theresa Coye, a graduate student from Belize by way of Jamaica, has successfully completed requirements for the M.A. Coye's thesis, "ReWriting and ReRighting Canons: The Post-Colonial Reconstruction of Marginalized Space in Selected Caribbean and Chicana Literature," reflects her interest in continuing study at the University of Leeds in Post-Colonial Literature. She contributed this essay about her journey: "I Remember Salt: a Personal Dialogue."
Leanne Smith is a senior English major, with a minor in French. She is the recipient of the Russell Christman Memorial Scholarship and the Gravely Foundation Award. She is also the president and web-designer of the Poetry Forum (http://www.ecu.edu/org/poetryforum) and the ECU Folk & Country Dancers. She runs a morning radio program here on campus. Listeners can tune in Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at 91.3FM WZMB. Jeremy Hartzell had the pleasure of sitting down with her and asking her a few questions about her choices in programming and tastes in music. Roger Schlobin attended COMDEX at the Las Vegas Convention Center, November 16-21. Among the areas of IT interest explored at COMDEX: Web Services, Education Software, Windows Platform, Enterprise Software, Open Source and Linux. Schlobin brought back various software programs and brochures that he shared with his students, some faculty, and one administrator.
Jason Myers has just wrapped up his directorial debut of the musical "Footloose" for the Farmville Arts Council. Jeremy Hartzell interviewed him about his experiences.
