How to prepare for your First-Year Writing Studio Appointment:
Be on time if you have an appointment or drop by at the top of the hour. Sessions should start promptly to maximize your and the consultant's time together.
Bring in your syllabus or assignment sheet as well as any other information given by the instructor so that the consultant knows the purpose of and guidelines for the assignment.
Bring all of the planning and drafting work you have completed thus far.
If your instructor has already commented on the paper, bring those comments as well as a working knowledge of those suggestions. Be prepared to ask questions about revision strategies.

After the session:
Work though the suggestions, comments, and revision strategies you discussed with your consultant.
Revise. Revise. Revise.
Schedule another appointment to receive more feedback.
