In January 1995, the Department of Pediatrics celebrated the opening of
a new 12-bed "State of the Art" Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. Pediatric
transport is provided by the hospital transport team, trained in Pediatric
transport and supervised by the Pediatric Intensive Care faculty. Housestaff
are active members of the health care team serving critically ill children
during rotations through the Intensive Care Unit. Supervision is provided
by three fully trained Pediatric Intensivists. A wide variety of patients
with complex medical problems are served in this setting. |
