Welcome to the Office of Graduate Medical Education (GME) website.  The GME is an essential and integral part of the academic atmosphere and clinical environment necessary to accomplish the missions of The Brody School of Medicine and Pitt County Memorial Hospital.
 
The Brody School of Medicine is nationally renowned for primary care, yet also has innovative tertiary care programs.  Pitt County Memorial Hospital (PCMH) is the primary care hospital for Greenville and Pitt County, and the only tertiary hospital serving 29 counties and the 1.2 million residents of eastern North Carolina.

The two institutions work together to provide residents and fellows the optimal educational and clinical experience.  PCMH is the sponsor of our ACGME programs and the employer of our residents and fellows, while the Brody School of Medicine provides the educational home and structure for our programs.

We currently have over 340 residents and fellows in our programs.  The broad patient mix we provide, combined with our outstanding medical capabilities and technology, assures our residents and fellows a dynamic experience in an unspoiled setting near the beautiful North Carolina coast.
