Training Information |
BSOM Centricity Orientation will provide new employees with a basic introduction to Centricity, the BSOM Electronic Medical Record. Hands on practice and additional training will need to be completed through the individual clinics once the employee returns to his/her work area. BSOM Centricity Orientation consists of three parts; employees will be notified regarding which sessions they need to attend. BSOM Centricity Orientation Part I and Part II are held every other Wednesday morning in conjunction with BSOM New Employee Orientation.
An
Centricity/Logician User Request Form must
be completed, signed, and faxed to 744-5504 before any employee can attend a
class. Once HIS/S staff has
received the form, personnel will be contacted to schedule training prior to
granting access privileges.
Centricity Part I: Introduction and Access is an instructor led lecture session taught by the Clinical Applications Training section of HIS/S. This is the first in a series of three sessions that employees need to attend in order to gain access to Centricity. Part I training consists of an introduction to the system, the desktop, and an overview of the patient’s chart. At the end of this session, accounts will be set up and access given to all employees who have a completed and signed Centricity/Logician User Request Form

workflow instruction solely concentrating on the providers’ documentation
processes. Due to the complexities and documentation standards reviewed in Part
