Scholarship Information
A number of Honors College students receive scholarship support from both public and private sources. The Honors College is constantly engaged in work to expand the scholarship support available to our students. Please read below for particular scholarships available to eligible students in the Honors College:
Students who are accepted to the Honors College for the fall 2011 freshmen cohort will receive a scholarship equal to the level of in-state tuition. On July 1, 2011, this was valued at $3,348 for the 2011-2012 academic year. If the cost of in-state tuition should increase while attending ECU, the value of the scholarship will continue to match the actual cost. Students admitted from outside the state of North Carolina will receive the same award - in the amount of the level of in-state tuition - which can be applied toward the overall cost of out-of-state tuition. The scholarship is processed by the office of student financial aid and will appear on the student account as a "Special Talent and Access Grant."
This support is renewable for up to four years, provided students remain in good standing within the Honors College. The scholarship may be stacked on top of many other awards, including those connected with the EC Scholars program. These scholarships may be stacked so long as the total aid does not exceed the cost of attendance as defined by the office of student financial aid. Please note that this scholarship may not be accepted by students
participating in the Teaching Fellows program due to the policies
governing that award.
