The Health Services Management Program holds full certification status with the Association of University Programs in Health Administration (AUPHA).


Colin Johnson, an HSM junior, was one of six UNC System students named as 2018 Marian Drane Graham Scholars. This program "provides rising juniors and seniors in the UNC System with an immersive learning experience designed to help them develop leadership skills and gain a better understanding of key issues facing public higher education." Associate Dean for Academic Affairs - Dr. Leigh Cellucci is now the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs for the College of Allied Health Sciences. Read the full story.

Dr. Ray Hylock is selected to receive 2017-2018 ECU Scholar-Teacher Award. Announcement.

Dr. Susie Harris was interviewed by WNCT about the bilateral agreement recently being established between Pitt Community College Health Information Technology program and ECU BS in Health Information Management program. Link to video.

Dr. Elijah Asagbra published his paper " Why hospitals adopt patient engagement functionalities at different speeds? A moderate trend analysis" in the International Journal of Medical Informatics. The journal is highly ranked in health informatics journals with an impact factor of 3.210 in 2016.

Distinguished Member Award - Dr. Susie Harris received the NCHIMA Distinguished Member Award for 2017. The award is given to an individual who exemplifies the professional image of the association and makes significant contributions to the HIM profession. Read the full story.
