The East Carolina Alumni Association serves more than 123,000 alumni. Its award-winning alumni programs, the monthly eNewsletter Pirate Pulse and online community keep members of the ECU family connected to ECU throughout their lifelong relationship with the University.

A rich tradition in the fine and performing arts and an active student life program provide a full calendar of dance, music, theater, and other cultural activities.

Community Engagement

Community Engagement is an active partnership between communities of Eastern North Carolina and East Carolina University to develop, exchange, and apply knowledge, information, expertise, and resources for everyone’s benefit. These resources include, but are not limited to faculty, staff, and students. 

Current Students

The university's fall 2006 enrollment of 24,351 included students from fifty states, the District of Columbia, and fifty-six foreign countries.  

Economic Development

East Carolina University is an engine of economic development for the region and state. Each year, the university generates over $2 billion for the state’s economy. Through education, research and community engagement, East Carolina continues to develop new ideas and establish new relationships that will contribute to further economic growth.
