ECU's Virtual Private Network (VPN) is an encrypted "tunnel" between off-campus devices and on-campus resources. Using a VPN to access secured information while off campus prevents data theft. For example, a department's Piratedrive folder is an example of information that must be accessed through a secure VPN. You can only connect to resources for which you already have access.
The Cisco AnyConnect VPN software is installed the first time you navigate to the appropriate link below. It is recommended that AnyConnect be installed on campus through Firefox or Internet Explorer.

When the AnyConnect VPN client is launched, it requires a PirateID username and passphrase to verify your identity.
An ECU Sponsor submits the VPN Access form for vendor or non-ECU guests requiring VPN access. ECU sponsorship is required.
All users of the ECU VPN Services are subject to all ECU Information Technology (IT) policies.
