Important Message to SharePoint users

The SharePoint migration from 2007 to 2010 has presented some unresolvable issues that require us to roll back to the previous version of SharePoint. The rollback will restore SharePoint to the June 1, Friday 9:00 am version of the database. If you uploaded a file between midday Sunday to midday Monday and you need a copy of the file, please call the Help Desk at 328.9866. Please contact us by June 15, 2012 to retrieve any files uploaded during this 24-hour period.

SharePoint will be unavailable from 5:00 pm today until 8:00 am tomorrow morning (June 6, 2012).

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience that this may cause and we appreciate your patience. We will let you know once we reschedule the SharePoint migration.

Sharepoint services are currently in “read only mode” while we make final modifications to the migration that occurred over the weekend. We will notify campus once services are fully restored.

During this time users can view content and download content from sites, but will not be able to edit sites, edit content on a site, or upload new content to a site.

SharePoint upgrade this weekend

When: Friday June 1, 8:00am till Sunday June 3, 5:00pm

ITCS will be upgrading SharePoint services from the 2007 version to the 2010 version. The upgrade will begin on Friday morning at 8:00am and will continue until Sunday afternoon at 5:00pm.

During the upgrade users will be able to access SharePoint sites in a read-only mode. Users can view content and download content from sites, but will not be able to edit sites, edit content on a site, or upload new content to a site. Users may see slightly slower response time during the upgrade.

The wireless network will be unavailable on Sunday morning, from 9:00am till 11:00am, while we perform maintenance during our normal maintenance window.

The upgrade of Mediasite to version 6.0 has been completed, the streaming services are now available for both viewing and recording presentations.
