Pirate Print Kiosk

PiratePrint is a service that allows students to print from their personal computers from either on or off campus to printing kiosks located around campus.  Current PiratePrint locations are:

  • Allied Health Building (2nd floor entrance to Laupus Library) Globe Icon Map
  • Austin Lobby (by Austin 104 computer lab) Globe Icon Map
  • Bate 3rd Floor Globe Icon Map
  • Mendenhall Student Center (Main Level) Globe Icon Map
  • Rivers (by Rivers 139 computer lab) Globe Icon Map
  • Ross Hall - SoDM (student lounge area)
  • Wright Place (walkway between Dowdy Student Stores and Wright Place) Globe Icon Map

We are bringing students this convenient new service in response to the 2012 Student Technology Survey: 52% of respondents indicated they are more likely to use a printing station over a computer lab.

How do I print to the PiratePrint kiosk?

  1. Click on the "Submit Print Job" button above.
  2. Log in with your PirateID and Passphrase.


  3. Click on "Submit a Job."  (If you don't see the link "Submit a Job" be sure you are on the Web Print page).
  4. Select the PiratePrint printer (\\papercut\pirateprint) and click on "Print Options and Account Selection."
  5. Specify the number of copies you need (multiple copies will count against your print quota) and click on "Upload Document."
  6. Click the "Browse" button and choose the document you want to print and then click on "Upload and Complete."

Your print job is now available for you to pick up at any of the PiratePrint kiosk locations across campus.  Please note that your print job will be deleted 24 hours after the print job is submitted.

When can I print to the PiratePrint kiosk?

You can print to the kiosk at anytime from on or off campus.

What kind of files are supported by PiratePrint?  What is maximum file size?

The following file types are supported:

  • Microsoft Office Word
  • Microsoft Office Excel
  • Microsoft Office Powerpoint
  • Microsoft XPS
  • Adobe PDF

Can I submit a print job from my iPad, iPhone, or Android device?

No, at this time these devices are not supported.

What is maximum file size that can be submitted?

The maximum size is 100 MB (anything larger will be rejected).

Are there any print restrictions?

Print jobs are limited to 25 pages.
