Cell Phone Use in the Laupus Library
Use of cell phones in open areas of the library should be kept to a minimum. While in open areas of the library, such as the reference floor, cell phone ringers should be turned to a level where they cannot be heard by others, and conversations should be brief and respectful of others.
Food and Drink
Laupus Library allows the consumption of snack food and non-alcoholic beverages under prescribed conditions. Drinks must be in spill-proof containers. Foods such as chips, nuts, pretzels, and cookies are considered snack foods; sandwiches, pizza, burgers, salads, etc are not. Trash should be disposed of properly and spills should be reported to library staff immediately. Eating and drinking are not permitted in History Collections and patrons should exercise caution near computers, printers, photocopiers, or other electrical equipment. The delivery of food to the library for library users is prohibited. If patrons fail to follow this policy and its limitations, they will be asked to conform or leave the library.
