Cell Phone Use in the Laupus Library
Use of cell phones in open areas of the library should be kept to a minimum. While in open areas of the library, such as the reference floor, cell phone ringers should be turned to a level where they cannot be heard by others, and conversations should be brief and respectful of others.
Food and Drink
Laupus Library allows the consumption of food and non-alcoholic beverages under prescribed conditions. Drinks must be in spill-proof containers. Library users are expected to be careful with food and drink and prevent spills. Trash should be disposed of properly and spills should be reported to library staff immediately. Eating and drinking are not permitted in History Collections. Patrons should exercise caution near computers, printers, photocopiers, or other electrical equipment. Groups assembling and eating in the library are permitted as long as they do not disturb other library patrons and adhere to all other aspects of this policy. Laupus Library reserves the right to ask any library user to take food and drink out of the library at the discretion of any staff member.
