For Distance Learners.....
Requesting Print Materials from Joyner Library
Distance Education-only, ECU students, who live outside of Pitt County, NC, are eligible to request and receive print materials that Joyner Library owns and does not own, via the library's Interlibrary Loan service.
At this time, most materials will be mailed to you (via Fed-Ex Ground), and you will receive return instructions (return postage paid by Joyner Library) as well. Articles available electronically will be e-mailed to you as a .pdf file.
To make your request, first register as an Illiad user.
Read through the information on that web page, and click on the button at the bottom of the page that says “First Time Users Click Here.”
Fill out the required information fields to set up your account. You may select any user name and password to access this system, as long as the user name is not already currently in use. Many users find it helpful to use their ECU Exchange ID and password to make it easier to remember.
The screen capture below shows part of the registration form:

You should only need to register once. After you have registered, you will be able to log into the ILL request system using your user ID and password. You will also receive an e-mail message indicating that you have registered as a user. You will use this system to request the books and articles that you need.
You can log into the main menu of the Illiad interlibrary loan request system, by using your chosen user ID and password. Once you enter the Illiad system, you can request journal articles and books, by selecting the buttons: "Request a Photocopy" or "Request a Book."
You can also review your requests, by viewing or modifying them, viewing and downloading articles you have received electronically, viewing and renewing eligible checked out items, viewing your request history, and viewing and resubmitting your cancelled requests.
Additionally, you can change your user information and/or your password from this main page. Below is a screen capture of what this page looks like.

Please note: ECU students who live in Pitt County, NC, or who have any on-campus courses in Greenville, NC are expected to use Joyner Library in-person at this time.
