A Special Learning Opportunity for You!

Enjoy the Harriot Voyages of Discovery Lecture Series at East Carolina University!

Advancing the spirit of exploration and discovery, this series features speakers who are accomplished leaders and distinguished professionals from a variety of disciplines.

The upcoming lecture, Religion and the Post-Racial Condition, is free!  It will be held on March 13, 2012, at 7 p.m. at the Wright Auditorium on campus.

Professor J. Kameron Carter will be the speaker.  He teaches courses in theology and black church studies at Duke University.  Working as a theologian, he addresses the basic areas of Christian thought, especially Christology and theological anthropology.  In engaging such matters, he does so with a view not just to the Church or to Christian believers, but also to the broader humanities, particularly such fields as cultural studies, gender studies, philosophy, and literature.

Tickets for this lecture are available through the Central Ticket Office by calling 252-328-4788, 1-800-ECU-ARTS, or (voice/TTY) 252-328-4736.  Please identify yourself as a Lifelong Learning Program member.

The upcoming lectures in fall 2012 will be offered at a discounted rate for LLP members.  You will pay only $5 per lecture (vs. $10 for the general public).

For more information on the series, please contact Dr. John A. Tucker at (252) 328-1028 or visit http://www.ecu.edu/cs-cas/voyages/about.cfm
