Getting Involved

 

Become a Member

 

You will enjoy these benefits when you become a member:

 

  • Receive an LLP membership card
  • Receive the LLP's listing of classes and events
  • Take part in the LLP educational programs and activities
  • Teach and lead classes, if qualified
  • Meet and network with other members
  • Receive an ECU parking pass for scheduled classes on campus

  • Use the services of the ECU Joyner Library, bookstore, and cafes

Membership fee:

 

$35 Annual (September 1, 2012 - August 31, 2013)

$20 Fall semester (September 1, 2012 - December 31, 2012)

$20 Spring semester (January 1, 2013 - August 31, 2013)

A wide array of class topics await you! Examples include health issues, North Carolina history, world affairs, music, writing, photography, art, travel, cultural issues, environment, great literature, book discussions, gardening, and other areas of interest to members.

Volunteer Opportunities

 

Teaching / Leading a class

 

Teaching or leading a class is an exciting learning opportunity and an enriching and rewarding experience. Your educational background and/or your special interests, as well as the interests of our older adults, can help you determine the topic that you can facilitate.

 

If you are unable to teach, but know some qualified individuals who can be instructors for the program, please let us know by email at llp@ecu.edu or by phone at (252) 328-9198. You may also give us your course suggestions through this contact information.

 

Serving on a committee

 

Are you interested in offering your talents, skills and experiences by serving on a committee? If so, you might consider joining one of the following committees:

 

  • Program Committee
  • Marketing Committee
  • Activities and Services Committee
  • Finance and Development Committee
