Admission

Application for admission to the Maritime Studies Program can be made by completing East Carolina University's Application for Admission to Graduate Instruction. In addition, the following must be submitted to the Dean of the Graduate School: transcripts of your undergraduate record, results of the Graduate Record Examination, and three letters of recommendation from professors or supervisors. The Committee on Admissions to the Graduate School will act on this information. Applications and information for admission to graduate school can be requested from the Dean of the graduate school, East Carolina University, Greenville, NC 27858-4353 (252)328-6012. Applications packets are also available on-line.

Application deadline: March 1 if applying for graduate assistantship. (Students admitted for fall semester only.) Interviews are encouraged for all applicants. Students expecting to dive must have open water SCUBA certification from a nationally recognized agency. Please see the Maritime Studies section of the graduate school page for more details
