Please join us in carrying on Coach Rock's memory and his fight against cancer by supporting the Third Annual Coach Rock Cancer Research Golf Classic to benefit the Coach Rock Roggeman Cancer Research Fund at ECU's Brody School of Medicine. This fund supports East Carolina's ongoing research at the Leo Jenkins Cancer Center and the ECU Department of Oncology.
Coach Thomas "Rock" Roggeman was in his third season coaching the Pirates' defensive tackles in 2009 when he was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma. Prior to joining the Pirate Nation in December of 2004, Roggeman coached at Alabama State, Alabama A&M, Louisville, Eastern Michigan, UNLV, and Murray State, and played linebacker and nose guard at Notre Dame. He lost his valiant battle with cancer at the age of 47, but his legacy continues with the Coach Rock Roggeman Golf Classic.
All of the money raised directly benefits cancer patients in eastern North Carolina. Your gift stays here to help develop and support innovative new cancer treatment clinical trials. Each advancement in the treatment of cancer comes through these trials; they are the key to improving cancer care. Your support helps carry on the fight.
