Clancy has recently published a new book telling the saga of the warship USS Monitor and its salvage, one of the most complex and dangerous in history. He has also published, Just A Country Lawyer, a biography of Sen. Sam Ervin. He has written for The Charlotte Observer, The Washington Star, USA Today and The Virginian-Pilot, and was editor of Calypso Log, the magazine of The Cousteau Society.
