Books, food and the people who love them were the focus of the 2nd annual Edible Books Festival April 6 at Joyner Library, East Carolina University. Participants entered edible art related to their favorite books. The art can make a pun on a book's title or refer to a scene or character from a book.
This year's winners were as follows:
- Best in show and most edible, "The Secret Garden," created by Lou and Dawn Rook
- Youth, "There was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Chick," created by Aidan Wood
- Wittiest, "War and Pizza," created by Gail Ratcliff
- Least edible, "Dog Breath: The Horrible Trouble with Hally Tosis," created by Tracie Hampton.
