New clinic for breast cancer survivors opens

Leo W. Jenkins Cancer Center
GREENVILLE, N.C.   (Feb. 12, 2010)   —   Breast cancer survivors in eastern North Carolina have a convenient place to turn for continuing care following their cancer treatments.

The Leo W. Jenkins Cancer Center is offering a new service called the Thrive Clinic each Thursday morning for women who have had breast cancer.

Services the clinic offers include bone health; diet, exercise and weight loss consultations; smoking cessation help; and mammogram updates, said Bobbi Wilkins, the physician assistant who developed and runs the clinic.

Drs. Rachel Raab and Cynthia Lynch, breast cancer specialists, also work with patients at the clinic.

The clinic sees patients Thursdays from 9 a.m. to noon. As patient volume grows, so will clinic hours, Wilkins said.

The cancer center is at 600 Moye Boulevard in Greenville on the campus of the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University.
