First-year medical student at the Brody School of Medicine Sebastian DeMarco, number 22, was the first place runner in the 17th annual Hamstring Hustle 5K Run/Walk April 16. The race is presented by the Medical Student Council at the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University. Proceeds benefit the ECU Pediatric Healthy Weight Research and Treatment Center, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping children achieve a healthy weight and improve their nutrition.
Easter Egg Hunt 
Phi Sigma Pi will hold an Easter Egg Hunt from noon to 4 p.m., April 16 on the ECU Mall.
Aphasia: Stroke at 44
The short film, "Aphasia," will be screened at 6:30 p.m. April 13, at the East Carolina Heart Institute. The film tells the true story of Carl McIntyre, a North Carolina man who had a massive stroke at age 44 and now lives with aphasia, which impairs the ability to process language. McIntyre will answer questions at the event. Read more...
1,000 Kisses on campus
Classical studies professor John Given will direct a world-premiere staged reading of "A Thousand Kisses," a new radio play by academy-award winning screenwriter Frederic Raphael, based on the life of Roman poet Gaius Valerius Catullus. A number of ECU faculty members will participate in the readings. Set for 8 p.m., April 11, Room C209 Science and Technology Building. Free.
