Art Sale Benefits Nursing Scholarships, Research

Shirley Tacker of Greenville examines one of more than 80 works of art on display at the Art Show and Sale held Oct. 26 at Rock Springs Equestrian Center. Twenty-two local artists contributed original works in watercolor, oil, acrylic and mixed media for a clothesline art show and sale that raised $1,200 for nursing scholarships and research at ECU. The event was held in conjunction with the fall banquet of Beta Nu Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau, the international honor society of nursing. Janet Dixon, an award-winning artist and vice president of Greenville Brushstrokes, along with Lou Everett, president of Greenville Brushstrokes and professor in the ECU School of Nursing, coordinated the event. The Beta Nu banquet featured keynote speaker, Dr. Carol Picard, president of Sigma Theta Tau International, who spoke on “Energizing Nursing Practice: Keeping the Passion in Compassion.” (Photo by Cliff Hollis)
